FOR NATURAL ALTERNATIVES.”

OUR STORY

The Organic Pharmacy was co-founded in 2002 by pharmacist and pioneer of clean and natural beauty Margo Marrone.

Our approach now combines the power of certified organics with the triple expertise of a pharmacist, dermatologist and our beauty therapists to craft and curate clinically proven skin solutions.

We get up close and personal with your skin, to provide it with the care and support it truly deserves. We’re dedicated to eco-designing formulas that give your skin and body exactly what they need to remain healthy, nourished and protected.

By striking this balance, we offer a performance-driven organic and natural alternative to conventional beauty brands.

We’ve always believed that people should be able to make an informed choice and we will always look for the organic and natural way to create our skin problem-solving and health products.

We maximise the concentration of organics and naturals in all our formulas to deliver both efficacy and the sensory experience our customers love. Products contain up to 99.8% Organic ingredients. For natural ingredients, we follow the ISO 16128 Standard.

As a British pioneer of clean and organic beauty, we only use natural preservatives, emollients or tensio-actives for their kindness to the planet and to the skin. We choose to black-list GMO, mineral oils, SLS, phenoxyethanol, silicones or chemical filters.

We use safe synthetic ingredients when ingredients of a similar efficacy are not naturally available or if there is a lack of sustainable sourcing. For examples, Niacinamide or Retinol are synthesised in a lab, where we avoid ingredients that involve petrochemistry and choose those that are clinically proven to be safe to use.

Additionally, we strive to find highly performing plant-based alternatives to well-known lab-made ingredients – such as Bakuchiol, the natural substitute to Retinol.

Co-founded by a pharmacist, The Organic Pharmacy has been formulating certified organics and naturals-based skin and health solutions for over 20 years. We have a great understanding of which ingredients work best for your concerns.

Our Research and Development team have always been supervised by a pharmacist – ensuring all innovations or reformulations are monitored.

From our beginnings as a pharmacy in London, we have grown to be a part of the Italian Dermatological Company, Istituto Ganassini. We remain true to our technical DNA, ensuring our products are made with uncompromising quality with safe-to-use testing that you can trust.

Our top priorities are safety and efficacy, which is why all our products are tested under dermatologist supervision.

Dermatologists are doctors who specialise in conditions that affect the skin, hair and nails. They diagnose and treat common conditions such as acne, psoriasis, and eczema, as well as aesthetic concerns, such as wrinkles.

Our dermatologist testing is unique, in that their expertise governs each test from beginning through to the end. This ensures that test subjects’ skin are observed to limit adverse reactions, and that any such data is recorded, guaranteeing transparency. Since this is not an industry standard, our commitment to due diligence distinguishes us from other brands.

Due to dermatologist expertise, products are only launched when they have clinically proven results and are ruled to be safe-to-use.

Our products have been used by beauty therapists for decades, and in 2023, over 5,000 treatments were performed in our London clinics and with our global spa partners.

These clinicians are versed in massage and application techniques, as well as product combinations, allowing them to treat your skin with a tailored set of products to address specific concerns.

Both their expert hands and our skin solutions create a uniquely sensory experience that delivers results you will not forget.

Nowadays, efficacy standards are not always translated across the market, making informed choices more difficult to attain.

All claims we make on our packaging are clinically proven. This means:

All product claims rely on clinical tests, carried out by independent laboratories in “clinical” environments.

“NO TEST, NO CLAIM”

Strict protocols involve scientific measurements of the skin (for example: size of pores, length and depth of wrinkles, …) before, during and after use. These are always done under the supervision of a dermatologist.

Our tests usually last from 4-12 weeks.

When the panel includes test subjects with sensitive skin, and results do not conclude in adverse reactions, we can claim “Suitable for sensitive skin”.

We quantitatively measure the efficacy of our products, granting us accurate results, that you can trust.
